Our name Parak is an abbreviation of the word "mariposa" (butterfly) in Purépecha, and "zinzuni" means hummingbird. The Purépechas, also known as Tarascans, are an Amerindian people native to Michoacán. In the post-classical pre-Columbian era, they founded the largest and most powerful empire in Mesoamerica from their capital Tzintzuntzan, surpassed in size only by the Aztec empire. The Purépechas were never defeated by the Aztecs; they were and continue to be the Gauls of Mexico.
The Parak logo represents the "coyote man," recently discovered in Tacámbaro. Each product also incorporates regional fauna, including the monarch butterfly, which migrates annually from Canada, numerous species of hummingbirds, and the ocelot, among others.
